Garhwa district of the state of Jharkhand falls in one of the backward regions of the country. In 2006, the Indian government named Garhwa as one of the country’s 250 most backward districts. Reach of higher education was very poor and the Nilambar-Pitamber University, the only University in the region, was set up as late as in the year 2009. RCWT, which has setup RCU recently, has always taken up the tough challenge of spreading higher education in the most back ward regions of our country. In Garhwa, there are about 15 colleges out of which 4 colleges are managed by RCWT.
The college was established in 2009 and presently offers graduate degrees in Arts, Science and Commerce streams. Shortly Postgraduate degrees in Arts will be offered to expand the reach of higher education to the aspiring students.
